Weber Saint-Gobain - Official website of the company

Powerscourt National School, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow

Pupils at the new 4 classroom Powerscourt National School have gone from being educated in the oldest building in Ireland to occupying one of only a few energy-efficient 'Passivhaus' designed primary schools in the country.

This involved a number of challenging aspects to building such as high levels of insulation, window glazing, energy efficiency and an enveloped or airtight build. The resulting building is hugely energy efficient and extremely ecofriendly in its running and has received an A rating certificate.

Saint-Gobain Weber materials were used throughout the 1300m² building due to their proven quality, longevity and attention to detail.

Award winning & NSAI Agrément accredited webertherm XM and webertherm XP external wall insulation (EWI) systems were specified that included 200mm thick webertherm PHS (Phenolic) insulation achieving a U-value of 0.11W/m²K that thermally improved the structure to create a warm & comfortable learning environment.

The webertherm XM EWI system was finished with weberplast TF150 an acrylic-based, decorative finish which has a fine texture and provides high weather resistance to enhance the modern lines of the structure.
